Beach Ready Skin

Summer is here and we find ourselves showing more skin than usual. We love to be in our summer dresses, mini skirts, shorts and given the right place, in our bikinis :).

In order to look fantastic, we need to prep our skin by exfoliating it, tone it, moisturize it and give it that fabulous glow. You may ask how can you do that? Well, according to Ladies' Home Journal, you can get a beach ready skin by following the steps below:

1. Use a body wash with salicyclic acid or benzoyl peroxide to kill bacteria and unclog pores

2. Two to three times a week, use a sugar scrub to gently exfoliate such as Olay Body Scrub or Mary Kay Loofah Cleanser in Red Tea & Fig . Lightly towel dry, then apply a moisturizing lotion or cream, which will penetrate your skin better after you've sloughed off flaky dead layer

3. To get rid of creaked heels, in the morning apply a lightweight foot lotion to soften the skin. At night soak feet in Epsom salts for 10 mins. Then rub them with a grainy scrub, slather with a thick cream, and cover with socks. Try Mary Kay Mint Bliss Energizing Lotion for Feet & Legs

4. To remove hair from your legs, let your skin wet in a steamy shower for at least 3 mintures, then use a hydrating shave cream or gel, NOT SOAP, with a good shaver. Always moisturize your legs afterward

5. To have great bikini line, you have the options to wax which lasts for a month; to shave regularly with shave lotion or gel; or using depilatories cream or gel which produce results that last twice as long as shaving. Try Veet Spray On Hair Removal Cream

6. To have smooth underarms, use a fresh razor every 2 weeks such as Schick Quattro for Women TrimStyle; Gently exfoliate under your arms first and use a shaving cream before shaving

7. For sun-kissed skin, use a self tanner such as Jergens Natural Glow Healthy Complexion Daily Facial Moisutrizer or Mary Kay Subtle Tanning Lotion for your face and body

8. But most importantly, 15 minutes before sun exposure, make sure your moisturizer contains a sunblock of at least SPF 15. Depending on how long you intend to stay out in the sun, the sunblock should be higher in concentration.

Have fun in the sun!
