Healthy Body and Mind

For years I took it for granted that I have been blessed by my parents' good genes to have a natural weight of 95 lbs at 5'3" that I didn't think of exercise or join any kind of sports actitivities to keep fit. Then last year I kept such a busy schedule at work that I was literally getting burnt out from the almost 60 hours work week that I was no longer thinking straight. Then I met a friend at work who worked even longer hours then I and yet he always looked so alive. I asked him how he stayed so fresh with an 80 hours work week. He told me he ran to work every morning, ran every evening for about an hour and then he ran home after work. This is the routine he keeps to keep his body and mind fit. At first I thought to myself, this guy is crazy! What the heck is he talking about? After work I'm done and the only I want to do is to relax in my living room. But then it was getting so rediculously crazy at work that I needed some form of exercise to help me get through the week with a fresh mind.

So after countless attempts on my friend's part, I agreed to hike the Grouse Grind to see if I get anything out of it. The first time it took us 2 hours to complete the hike but amazingly I felt great and with such a rush of energy that I never felt before. I was sold and now I'm keeping a very active workout schedule of running, arobics and dancing classes to keep my mind fresh and my body fit! And just as equally important is that it also helps me manage stress and keep a positive outlook on life. Amazing hah? Well, try it for yourself and see if it makes any difference for you.
