Clear Skin

When I was in highschool my skin was flawless. Unlike my friends who had to worry about acne, my skin was clear as a baby. Then I entered university and that changed, not to mention among other things... It could be the stress or the diet that I wasn't getting being on a university campus with many long study hours, but I had terrible breakouts. I was so self conscious that there were days I stayed home from school because I didn't want anyone to see my face. Worst of all I have relatives who are quite honest and direct, particularly this one aunt who one day asked me, "Are you okay? What is wrong? You know there is one thing that pimples do and that they make you look old." Oh dear, that really did it.

I got so paranoid about my skin condition that I went to see my family doctor to get medication regularly. We tried this and that, but all the medication in the world didn't help. I was so frustrated. So what I ended up doing was going to the library to look for books on how to treat the acne myself. One day I was watching Oprah and Paula Begoun was on talking about skin care. She talked about her own experience going through acne growing up and how she managed to control it. I was going to try anything and I did. I bought Paula's book called the Beauty Bible and needless to say I managed to control my own acne problem on a budget of $15 or less a month and I haven't returned to the doctor's office for this problem since. You don't have to spend a fortune to look good. Thank you Paula! Now and then I would get women and even men coming up to me telling me how great my skin looks and ask me what I use to keep such glowing skin. You can too! Just check out Paula Begoun's website for her latest books on skincare at Paula's Choice!
