A blemish is unusual skin coloration like dark spots formed due to occasional acne outbursts. Blemishes can naturally occur with birth, exposure to chemical pollutants, stress, make-up and also due to normal pimple formation on the skin. But, blemishes are most often caused by acne breakouts forming blackheads and whiteheads. They form when the pores get clogged by dead skin cells and get infected by bacteria. They get more severe and form scars when squeezed or picked due to temptation. Women normally cover up blemishes with makeup concealers and cosmetic masks. Makeup may cover the blemish, but will never cure them naturally.
Gently applying ice will slow down the blemishes and will minimize scar formation. Applying lemon juice with a cotton sponge will help in healing the scars. It normalizes the skins pH levels and prevents blemish damage to the skin. Following your skin care routines regularly will help you recover and stay blemish free. Make sure you exfoliate at least once every week to remove the dead skin cells that block the pores and cause blemishes.
We recommend Paula’s Choice blemish and oil control treatments. However, you may also try natural remedies such as tea tree oil, witch Hazel and manuka honey, all of which have strong anti bacterial properties that will control the spread of bacteria on skin. To maintain healthy skin, we suggest a healthy diet with vitamin rich fruits and vegetables, good regular sleep and some stress relieving yoga followed by a mild cup of herbal tea each time will do the trick.
