Beauty is Hard Work

Have you ever met a woman who is physically perfect from the of top of her head to tip of her toe ? I meet her all the time. Each time I meet someone like this I would not hesitate to tell her she's stunning and we would end up exchanging beauty tips and sharing our skincare routines. I know...this may sound trivial compared to world hunger and the war in Iraq but this blog is about achieving a beautiful mind and body so I'll share just this part of my encounter to keep the topics in focus.

Just like anything else in life, beauty is hard work. This lady is in her thirties, has a one year old son and she literally looks like a teenager. She is truly Snow White comes to life, with the darkest hair you've ever seen and baby like fare skin. There is no trace of makeup or wrinkle on her face and she is absolutely striking that the room lights up when she enters.

We started to chat and I asked her how she has managed to keep her skin so beautiful. She said she never leaves home without sunscreen of at least 30 from head to toe, and even when she's in door she wears sunscreen to protect herself from sun rays coming through her windows. She also uses skim milk masks three times a week to help brighten her face and moisturize her skin. To protect her neck from wrinkles she wears scarf or turtle necks in the winter. Very simple routine that anyone can follow, there's nothing to it. OK, so maybe like me you hate wearing scarf, but if you use sunscreen on your neck it helps protect it from sun or harsh weather damage and keep your neck skin even with your face.... ;) I would take it one step further by adding that to keep your body moisturized, add 1 glass of milk to your baths.

So ladies, this rings true once more that the one thing you can do for your skin to prevent wrinkles is simply to stay out of the sun and wear sunscreen when outdoor. There's no magic potion nor moisturizer that does this for you. And the benefits are realized over time of course. It's not over night. Comparing a lady who has worn sunscreen all her adult life to someone who has not or worst, a sun worshiper and you can see a 10 to 20 years difference though they maybe the same age.

So I'm happy to say I've made another new friend. We are now connected by the passion for skincare and helping others to do the same. :)
